From childhood curiosity to industry innovation
In 1946, in a Copenhagen suburb, 3-year-old Erik Schmidt listened to the rhythmic sound of lathes while helping his father produce lighters.
This marked the beginning of WhizCut. Years later, after countless geometry calculations, Erik invented the WhizFix toolholder system.
Founded in Sweden in 1996, WhizCut continues to benefit from Erik’s innovative spirit. He still develops new products and holds the original patents, making him a renowned name in the metal cutting industry for his cutting-edge tooling solutions.
