WhizCut Original
Turning
Superior quality in external turning
WhizCut Original turning inserts are designed for exceptional results in CNC lathe tooling. They feature positive cutting rakes available in various angles for optimal performance. The standing insert design ensures stability, allowing for reliable precision machining even in demanding conditions. These inserts can handle up to 11 mm depth across materials, delivering a high-quality surface finish.
Benefits of WhizCut Original turning
- Cutting rakes: Different rakes optimize machining performance.
- Radial rake angle: Reduces built-up edges, ensures chip control.
- Ideal for titanium and stainless steel: Extended tool life, better chip control.
- Tool holders: Quick-change, coolant-through options for efficiency.
- Sharp cutting edges: Unique design of the turning inserts to reduce cutting pressure.
WIDER RANGE OF GROUND TURNING INSERTS
WhizCut Original J-type turning inserts offer extreme performance and tool life. Instead of using standard ISO inserts and multiple tool holders, you get the perfect tool for each part with just one holder. These ground inserts provide optimal axial relief within the same holder, ensuring strength and excellent chip control.
- Range from H-style with 3 degrees of axial relief to M-style with 72,5 degrees.
- Tight tolerance radiuses and wipers can eliminate the need for secondary grinding processes.
WhizCut Original inserts are made from world-class carbide and coatings. They maintain part size longer, allow for increased cutting data, and reduce both cycle time and downtime. These inserts are categorized as J-type for front turning/axial turning and K-type for radial turning.
When using WhizCut Original J-type holders, you can easily switch parts and adjust insert geometries. These inserts keep tight tolerances, and high positive inserts have a minus tolerance on all radiuses, optimizing cutting conditions for turning medical and electronic parts.
Inserts for sticky and exotic materials
The WhizCut Original P-line turning inserts are metal working tools designed for machining titanium, stainless steel, and carbon steel. They feature a positive radial rake angle and provide excellent surface finishes in copy turning. These inserts share the same basic geometry as their counterparts (H=HP, J=JP, D=DP, N=NP, V=VP, M=MP), with the difference being the radial rake angle, which ranges from 6° to 12°.
The positive rake angle is vital for perfecting cutting performance, improving surface finish, extending tool life, and ensuring versatility across various materials. Making this a reliable and efficient machining tool.
- P-line inserts effectively manage and break chips in materials prone to edge buildup.
- They minimize the risk of built-up edges. This results in lower cutting pressure and improved surface finish.
- These inserts are perfect for coolant-through tool holders.

Feed rate, chip control, and surface finish
- Style H = Medium to high feed rate, great surface finish
- Style J = Highest feed rate, best chip control with high feed rate
- Style D, N & V = Low to moderate feed rate, best surface finish
- Style M = All feed rates, dependent on surface finish needed. Shaving style insert makes the chips wider and easy to control with less cutting pressure
- Style HP, JP, D/N/V/MP = Low to moderate feed rate with 12° cutting rake and moderate to high feed rate on 6° and 8° cutting rake. Improved surface and part dimensions due to lower cutting pressure.

Axial rake angle vs. material
- 0-2° For short-chipping materials
- 6-8° For harder long-chipping materials
- 12° For long-chipping materials
- 16-20° For sticky long-chipping materials
- P-line, when low cutting pressure is needed, aggressive cutting rakes give less edge build up. Stainless, exotics and steel
